See What We’ve Been Up To Lately

CYTO 2024 is just around the corner and we are looking forward to seeing all our colleagues in Edinburgh soon! We’ll be exhibiting there along with our European service and support partners at  CytoFlow Service. Be sure to drop by Booth 32 and say hi!

Since our last newsletter, we’ve been spreading the word on our Delaware Flow NanoCytometer®. The Delaware is our custom designed analyzer for ultrasensitive detection of exosomes and other extracellular vesicles—without compromising its ability to perform standard cell-based flow cytometry, making it a dual use instrument for your core lab.

We’ve generated some pretty impressive data from the Delaware, as well as from our Arno cytometer for 12-color compensation-free cytometry. We’ve also beefed up our patent and trademark protection.

Scroll down to see more about what we’ve been doing lately and get a preview of what to expect from us at CYTO 2024.

All the best,
Giacomo

Latest Updates

Multiparameter EV Phenotyping

We recently teamed with HansaBioMed to showcase the multiparameter EV analysis capabilities of our Delaware Flow NanoCytometer®.

We used HansaBioMed FluoEVs and simultaneously measured EV size (by light scattering) and multiple channels for sensitive fluorescence detection of EV markers, including tetraspanins (eGFP-CD63 and PE-CD81), and membrane staining.

Particles were independently sized on a ZetaView NTA instrument indicating a mean EV size of ~90 nm.

You can see all the data in our latest Tech Note on Multiparameter Exosome Analysis.

The Delaware – see what you’ve been missing.

True 12-Color Compensation-Free Analysis on the Arno

Here are some results from our Arno showing 12-color compensation-free cytometry using only 2 lasers. This is a screenshot of 82,000 events collected and analyzed in real time. Note that spectrally overlapping fluorophores in each pair in the figure above are collected by a single detector and are easily distinguished from each other.

This works because we’ve developed a fundamentally different technology, Time-Resolved Flow Cytometry (TRFC), that allows us to characterize fluorophores not just in terms of their spectral emissions but also their fluorescence lifetime. This creates a whole new dimension of measurement that we use for, among other things, multiplexing and automated autofluorescence rejection. No compensation or spectral unmixing needed!

And best of all, it requires no additional analysis or changes to your standard workflow (other than eliminating the need for compensation controls).

New Look for the Delaware

Kinetic River will be showcasing a new look for our Delaware Flow NanoCytometer. We’ve redesigned the appearance of our instrument giving it a look that matches its unparalleled ability to analyze extracellular vesicles.

The sleek, clean new look signals our commitment to continuous innovation, in both form and function, and user-centric design.

Drop by our booth and take a look up close. Wouldn’t this look great in your lab?

New Delaware Pricing

The Delaware is a best-in-class instrument for EV analysis, but we want to make it more accessible. You already know that the Delaware comes in three tiers:

  • Tier 3: Basic Configuration with 2 lasers, 2 scattering channels, and 2 fluorescence channels
  • Tier 2: High-Sensitivity Configuration with 3 lasers, ultrasensitive scattering, and 4 fluorescence channels
  • Tier 1: 5-Laser Configuration is fully loaded with 5 lasers, ultrasensitive scattering and up to 6 fluorescence channels

But now, we’ve lowered the prices for each of these configurations. Talk to us at CYTO to find out how to get one of these in your lab to meet your EV and cell analysis needs all in one instrument.

Conferences and Talks

Webinar on EVs and Kidney Disease Diagnostics

Kinetic River hosted a webinar recently on “Flow Cytometry for Studying Exosomes and Extracellular Vesicles.” If you missed it, the slide deck and video of our webinar is live on our website.

In the webinar, Kinetic River founder and president Dr. Giacomo Vacca gave a brief introduction to the capabilities of our Delaware for ultrasensitive detection of nanoparticles. He was joined by Dr. Chris Ward, Professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center, who spoke about a promising application of the Delaware in a talk entitled “Toward Flow-Based Rapid Diagnostics of Kidney Disease.”

Thanks to SelectBIO for sponsoring the webinar.

Kinetic River Sponsors Lunch at FlowTex

Kinetic River was pleased to sponsor a lunch at the FlowTex 2024 Cytometry Conference March 26-28, 2024 in Houston, Texas. We were represented by Jerry Cabiness, Kinetic River Account Manager for the Delaware throughout most of the Southern US.

We were thrilled to meet with flow cytometrists in the area and discuss the capabilities of our Delaware.

Dr. Vacca Speaks at EV Conference

Kinetic River was busy at SelectBIO’s meeting on Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) and Nanoparticles 2024: Diagnostics, Delivery, Therapeutics. Not only were we an Exhibitor and Gold Sponsor, but Dr. Giacomo Vacca, Kinetic River’s founder and president, presented a talk entitled “Multicolor, High-Resolution Exosome Analysis with the Delaware Flow NanoCytometer”

Giacomo was joined by Kevin Dolan, Kinetic River Account Manager for the Delaware from Philadelphia to Key West, as well as Upstate New York.

The meeting was held April 3-4, 2024, in Miami, Florida.
