Potomac Cytometer Featured on Water Technology
Late last year, Kinetic River’s technology was featured on Water Technology, an online news outlet geared toward engineers and technologists in the water utilities sector.
The news item highlights our development of a Potomac cytometer for label-free flow cytometry analysis of cyanobacteria in water samples.
Through our distribution and service partners, CytoFlowService/EMC2, our flagship product was delivered and installed at Italy’s Institute for the Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment (IREA) at the CNR (National Research Council).
A quote from the IREA-CNR Research Director, Romeo Bernini, appeared in the article:
“Kinetic River’s Potomac is a unique flow cytometer. We specifically requested a violet/UV excitation configuration, not available anywhere else, to meet our needs to use short wavelengths both to generate autofluorescence and to detect nanoparticles for biomedical applications.
The instrument is very sensitive and easy to use, and furthermore provides the user with great flexibility, such as the possibility to access to raw waveform data.”
